Mission

  WELCOME

Thank you for choosing Greenacres Learning Center. We appreciate the trust you have placed in us to care for and educate your child.  This handbook is a guide to how we seek to establish a partnership with you to help address the needs of your child.  We have an “Open Door” policy and encourage parents to visit their child’s class at any time of the day.  You are welcome to observe or participate in any of your child’s classroom activities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to meet the developmental needs of our children by establishing developmentally appropriate practices while we accommodate the needs of our parents.  By preparing the proper environment and being sensitive to the needs of the children, we hope to enhance and foster a child’s social, emotional, physical, creative and cognitive development by making learning fun.

PHILOSOPHY

At Greenacres Learning Center, we believe that children learn and develop best through play.  Our program provides structure through child-initiated and teacher-planned activities.  Children need to have the opportunity to manipulate concrete materials with the teacher being an active facilitator to increase the child’s learning experiences.  Our program builds on the child’s interest providing them with exposure to music, movement, art, dramatic play, math, science and literacy activities.
