EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

We believe that children learn by doing.  Therefore, each classroom is set up with learning centers.  These centers are set up with age-appropriate materials to encourage children’s exploration and hands-on participation.  The following is an overview of each one of our classes:

Red Class Room– Infants 2 weeks to 12 months

Our infant room is designed to encourage infants to learn through their natural curiosity and developing abilities as they reach, pull, push, grasp and manipulate.  Our infants are sung to, read to, spoken to throughout the day as we promote language development.  We provide developmentally appropriate toys and materials for the infants, which helps to develop fine and gross motor skills, language skills, social skills and cognitive skills.

Green Classroom – 12 to 24 months

Our toddler teachers are responsive to each child’s needs.  Our goal is to respect each toddler’s individuality.  We strive to recognize the toddler’s personal rhythm and style and tune into those rhythms when planning time for eating, sleeping, and playing.  Our toddlers will be hugged, cuddled, played with, sung and read to, all in an effort to provide a developmentally safe and stimulating environment.  The toddler room is designed to provide early learning experiences as well as security.  The self-contained room is clean, safe and filled with interesting and stimulating toys to explore.  It is set up to promote learning through free play.

Purple Room – 24 months to 36 months and not potty trained

This age group is extremely inquisitive, therefore, the two’s classrooms are set up with plenty of materials for children to explore and discover.  Teachers are sensitive to children’s needs, while still allowing ample time for independent investigation.  Your children will sing, dance, create, play and be read to throughout the day.  Students will be greatly encouraged to gain social skills through interactions with others as they strive to gain their independence.  We will work alongside the parent to assist the children in potty training.

Pre-schoolers – 3 to 5 years

Each class features developmentally appropriate, child focused learning in a safe and caring atmosphere.  Curriculum is child centered, with art projects focusing on the process, not the product, and hands-on sensory experiences helping children understand math and science concepts.  Literacy is prominently featured, with children exposed to many pre-literacy experiences, from the environmental set up to the activities planned. Our entire program is designed to encourage children’s love of learning while preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.  We require that each child bring in a folder that preferably they have picked out for the storage of their art projects and parent notes.

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

This is a state-sponsored program designed to prepare children for kindergarten.  A child must be 4 years old on or by September 1st and obtain an eligibility certificate from the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County.  Our program runs 3 hours a day consistent with the Palm Beach County School District’s annual calendar.  (See County School District calendar for days closed).

School Aged – Kindergarten to 5th Grade

This program is to provide children with after school activities in a fun, safe, environment where they may socialize with their peeps.  Our after school teachers provide the children with teacher-directed indoor and outdoor activities and encourage child-directed activities as well.  Our teachers offer special interest clubs that the children have expressed interest in forming.  They may form and join clubs such as arts & craft, drama, science, dance, jump roping, stamp collecting, origami, cheer leading, etc.  There is a scheduled homework quiet time provided Monday through Thursday for children to work on their homework.   This classroom is divided into special interest centers equipped with age-appropriate toys. In addition to our Before and After-School Programs, we offer “Camp” days and “Camp” weeks at the times when the Palm Beach County schools are closed.  “Camp” days or weeks are all-day programs which will usually include an off-campus field trip.
